Project North is a not-for-profit organization committed to enhancing and improving the lives of children in Canada's North.
Project North's community-based and national funding initiatives will generate opportunities to provide education and fitness programs that benefit the Inuit youth of today and of the future.
Project North's goal is to galvanize Canadians from coast to coast to coast to look North, become more aware, and lend a hand to support children - one of our country's greatest resources.
We have chosen to bring sports equipment because of the strong agreement across the country that community sport is one of the most positive forces in the lives of young people today.

With her keen eye and intuitive style, Michelle Valberg transports us through her lens to reveal the true paradox of life in the north; a place of severe climate and isolation but also a place of unimaginable beauty and hope.
Arctic Kaleidoscope . . . The People, Wildlife & Ever-Changing Landscape is a stunning photographic mosaic that depicts the striking polarity of life in the north, showcasing both the magnificent and the hardships of these relatively untouched lands and the Inuit people.
The quest to capture the genuine richness and beauty of the Arctic lands and its people was not an easy task. Ms Valberg has made sixteen visits to the Arctic with more trips planned. With each visit, her understanding of the importance of the fragile Arctic ecosystem and the unique and inspiring Inuit people grew. Through her stunning images, we realize her passionate belief in the role we must all play to protect and support a healthy and sustainable environment.
The Canadian Museum of Nature is proud to collaborate with Michelle Valberg and present an exhibit of 84 of her breathtaking photographs. The Exhibit will be displayed in the circular Apse of newly renovated historic 100 year-old Castle of the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa from March 11th to May 29th, 2011.
Visitors will be transported to a world of crisp, sparkling icy landscapes to surprising lush tundra, from delicate jewel-toned flowers hugging seemingly unyielding crevices, colossal icebergs, breathtaking mountains and deep fjords to the fluid glow of the northern lights! Through Michelle’s lens, the visitor is offered a glimpse into the resilience of the Inuit living in the Arctic.
